Why Not Paint Fireplace Brick

fireplace 0

My friend, Emily, has an adorable first home.

She is thinking about painting her fireplace.

She asked me what I thought.

YES! I said…AFTER ALL…

I am a lover of painted brick houses.

A painted fireplace is the next best thing:)

So…

NOW what color should Emily paint it?

Nothing too white but definitely a

creamy,warm white.

Without knowing the color on the walls,

I recommend trying the lightest swatch

on the wall paint’s sampler guide.

Unless, her walls are in green family.

Taupe, tan, beige family ok.

This is another brick fireplace wall

in Hannah and Jeremy’s walkout basement

that will be getting a few cans of paint.

It will make the space brighter and fresher.

Not sold on painted brick?

Check this BEFORE picture above…

uggh!

And AFTER using Glidden Sand White.

Doesn’t even look like the same room.

aww!

And how about this dark brick dungeon?

Afterwards…light and airy. WHOA! huh??

Just with cans of Glidden Water Chestnut.

I suggested to Emily that she paints

her sample paint colors on poster board

and hangs them on the fireplace.

You get a bigger and better feel of what it’ll actually look like

instead of painting samples directly on the brick.

I am a HUGE believer in sampling paints

BEFORE committing to them….

my patient Banker Boy will attest to that :)
