It is such a pretty Spring day today!
When I woke up this morning…
I was greeted by the sunshine coming in through my kitchen windows and hitting the crystals on my chandeliers
so perfectly
that my kitchen was filled with mini prism rainbows.
I knew it was going to be a great day.
I started singing “O What a Beautiful Morning” even though I didn’t know all the words :)
THERFORE..today it is just too pretty to be inside “my little pretties”

Glad I at least wet your appetite with “I Want Candy” until I could get my post in working order. I don’t want to send out an inferior product to my viewing public.
Last summer in Paris, I was able to share Laduree with my friends. It was my second time in the city and I couldn’t wait for my friends to experience Laduree’s famous macaroons.
BUT, it certainly isn’t just their macaroons I love or the charming striped Parisian awning….it’s the entire vibe of the shoppe.
Once you walk in Laduree and witness the glass display cabinets overflowing with the most beautiful array of colors and flavors of macaroons…you never forget it!
I may not even be able to remember what I wore yesterday….but I can paint you an exact replica of that French experience.
I am sighing now… just remembering that place.
Check out this true heart wrenching delight….it’s a macaroon wedding cake!! Hmm…I wonder who would want this for her daughter’s wedding? I need CPR just thinking about it.

I am a Laduree macaroon!
AND I am these colors, architecture, era and dessert buffet. This is a dessert buffet that I would get more pleasure from viewing than eating. Aren’t the most beautiful culinary presentations just that way?
AND I am these frilly feminine shoes! I would wear them in a heartbeat and never take them off. I’d sleep in them. Run to Krogers in them.

IF I could make one wish come true…it would be that I would LOVE to exercise!
I have never loved exercising…therefore, it is the last thing I ever want to do.
Maybe…if I could exercise without really knowing it…like putting on a big hat, squeezing into some skinny jeans,
adding some hair extensions and taking off on my bicycle through the lavender fields of Provence.
NOW…that wouldn’t feel like exercise at all…especially if I looked as good as Bridgitte Bardot while doing it.
The only trouble with me though…is that I would undoubtedly end my bike ride right here :)
AND unfortunately, I wouldn’t be stopping to pet the pooch!

OK…every so often I have fleeting moments of wanting to paint my brick home.
These are secret moments because my husband would think I am crazy along with possibly a million others.
But I know my home would get that European or is it Southern? charm…I have always adored.
There is something about painted brick homes that reflect me. And if the paint has chipped off exposing some original brick…the better.
That is why I about died when I read this wonderful blog…I think it should’ve just been emailed personally to my husband to convert him from Mr. Practical to a little crazy like I thought I was until this blog. NOTICE that the blogspot is appropriately named Things That Inspire…like painted brick:)
This headboard is an old fireplace mantel. How cool is that? Love the distressed finish of it. Almost has a European vibe but it’s actually a bedroom in a beach house. Good idea for Mrs. Hilton Header!!
I know that the bedspread is linen and the embroidered shams are from Neiman Marcus because I actually bought it a couple years ago but returned it thinking it wasn’t what I was looking for. It was gorgeous but I was worried it was the wrong “feel”.
Couple years later… guess it was the right feel because I am still attracted to it. However, I had a silk bedspread made for my bed because I liked the idea of not having a dust ruffle. Unfortunately, I have outgrown that silk look and fallen for the look of linen… probably because it’s more like me.
It feels aging has given me a comfortable, worn linen look ….I no longer feel as glamorous and fussy as silk. In addition, I don’t shave as much which really adds to that European vibe :)
This house is the actual house where my all-time favorite movie was filmed. Do you recognize it?
How about now?? Father of the Bride 1 & 2 were filmed in this beauty. Chris Streit’s uncle, who is a builder in Texas, said that this house is the one builders get asked to replicate the most. WHY? because it’s style is so homey and welcoming along with that white picket fence and huge tree. I bet everyday it feels like Christmas at Grandmas in that house!
And in Father of the Bride 2….is that incredible nursery that Abby and I were drooling over last night.

Well… were off to Columbus to see babies Willa and Evan today. Nothing like some darling nurseries and delicious coffee to get me ready for cuddling and loving those two:)
