Silver Belles

Our wedding photographer;

Hanna Salonen Photography

(Lexington KY)

captured some incredible shots. I love everything about her as a professional Photographer and as a person.

Hanna Salonen is a solo artist. She is proof that if you are one gifted Photographer…

you don’t need “back-up help”. Hanna has the ability to completely “feel” what shots need to be taken.

Therefore, Hanna didn’t miss one shot of our special day!

Please check out her website and Blog.

She took over one thousand pictures including this one of the entire wedding party

(minus one Silver Belle who couldn’t find the Hancock Historical Museum)

Love this of the Silver Belles trying to spell out

“Joy To The World”.

The Silver Belles who were “spellers” knew it was mixed up but I love it!

Aren’t they all so precious?

Love the black and whites too!

shoes

Their little gifts were the pearl jewelry and white fur muffs.

I made the silver bell tulle bows for their hair and shoes.

They jingle belled down the aisle.

And they sat…

like the Angelic Cherubs they are.

Then…they jingled back up the aisle.

What a memory!

Just think some day…

those little Silver Belles will be Brides :)

Something Old and Something Blue

Hannah’s engagement gift was my Grandmother’s vintage earrings.

Hannah wore them on her Wedding Day.

surgery 081

Once clip-on style…I had them converted to posts for Hannah.

I took this picture before giving them to her.

SHOE

We embellished Hannah’s Wedding boots too,

with a little something blue.

Hanna Salonen (the photographer) captured her boots spectacularly.

I love this picture!

More of Hanna’s pictures of Dec. 19th to come :)

Why Pantry Envy

post

I love this picture!

I like the chalkboard idea on the door

and the shelving displays.

It must be Ina Garten’s pantry (Barefoot Contessa)

Could you imagine? Such orderliness?

Happy Friday :)

Why December 19th Was Sweet (Part 1)

PART 1: The Bridesmaid’s Dresses

Actually finding the “perfect” bridesmaid's dress was hard.

MAIDS 001

Ashley posing in one of many LBD we ordered that didn’t work.

You would think a Little Black Dress was a simple option…but it was not.

Until…

Ashley tried on the winning design by Ralph Lauren.

MAIDS 014

It was adorable!

And so was our patient model…

(love her glasses too)

Thanks, Ash!

 MAIDS 016

Here we are sampling potential ideas for accessories:

A white athletic sock on one arm…

a dress black sock on the other (ha)

helped us decide whether white or black gloves would look better

and a white pearl bib necklace

(Courtesy:My personal jeweler; notsoplain Jane whose incredible accessories I am hoping to showcase later…Stay Posted!)

MAIDS 019

We concluded…

the dress gave us the simple yet chic Audrey Hepburn style we love.

Here is our model working it because she loved the dress so much.

This is actually a dress that Ashley and Brittany will wear again.

In the end…we skipped the necklace.

We opted for over sized vintage diamond earrings

and a small diamond bangle bracelet over the black glove

and sheer black hose.

Abby, Matron of Honor, wore a different classic black dress

that looked oh so fabulous on her.

She wore the same accessories.

Three of my dear friends owned similar vintage black jackets which they let us borrow for the day.

They were another perfect accessory.

Brittany was stunning too. So so pretty!

In these picture you can see the earrings were oversized.

Joe and I bought Evelyn her own fur coat to wear.

She was precious…

(Some of you may still be treasuring, as I am, how Evelyn was holding, rubbing and kissing Hannah’s hand at the altar.

I know that I will never forget that!

In fact, The Plan was: if Evelyn became restless and wanted to sit with us in the front row she could.

But it was obvious that Evelyn wasn’t going to let go of her “half Mommy’s” hand…and I don’t blame her!

Seven year old Evve stood up there showing everyone how much she loves Hannah. It was absolutely the sweetest thing, wasn’t it?

In fact, if Jeremy was seven…I bet he would’ve been on the other side of Hannah doing the exact same thing!

Doesn’t that memory still make you teary?)

coats

Another generous friend let me borrow her fur coat

which was gorgeous and warm.

As I first entered the church, I ran right into Joe’s patients who serve as the custodians.

The coat was so glamorous, I wished I had a Big Sign that told them:

THIS PHENOMINAL FUR

IS NOT MINE!

YOUR DENTAL BILLS

DID NOT PAY FOR THIS!

It was just another perfect part of a perfect day :)

Why Tea

For all my employed followers

who are enjoying today off

and all my stay-at-home followers…

Here is how to make the most of today

and every day…

As a self--admitted coffee snob…

I wondered why drinking tea made the list and not coffee?

And I have to admit…

since I have personally started drinking tea

there is a loveliness about the tea drinking experience that doesn’t come with coffee.

Maybe it is the whole proper English tea thing

but having a “cup of joe” isn’t as dainty and pretty as having a “cup of tea”.

may-tea9

Coffee makes you feel robust.

Tea makes you feel feminine…

Coffee gives you bad breath.

Tea gives you lovely breath.

So drink some tea today and have a lovely day

and remember how much I love you :)

Why Something’s Gotta Give

Ask my girls…

and they will tell you

how much I love Diane Keaton!

DKlowres303x350

To… look like her

when I grow up is another of my

New Years Resolutions.

9167-6134

I have always yearned to be just like

Nina Banks

in Father of the Bride.

When I tried on my

Mother of the Bride outfits…

I would do the the Nina Banks Test.

Would Nina wear this?”

I’d ask myself or my girls.

And since I didn’t dress like Nina in either of my girl’s weddings…

I will have to be Nina for my son’s wedding.

Yippee! I have one more shot to get the look down.

Because_I_Said_So,_2007,_Diane_Keaton,_Lauren_Graham,_Piper_Perabo

I literally paused

Because I Said So

with each new outfit she wore

and wrote down a detailed description

and sketched it (seriously!)

for some Project Runway contestant to recreate for me

I LOVED her dresses in this movie!

diane_keaton3

C’mon

isn’t she darling??

And she is wearing my dream dress here.

I love it…wow! Too cute!

Amazing how every dress she wore had sleeves.

Hmmm…that’s a new concept

more designers need to implement.

Like I have said before…

I have friends with beautiful arms…

who hate their arms.

‘nough said.

And in Something’s Gotta Give….

she fit that gorgeous Hampton’s home

where she lived to a T.

She is so adorable!!

It isn’t fair!!

No wonder she keeps acting….

she is such an inspiration.

Soo cute for her age…

any age for that matter :)
