Mama Mia

Sometimes

I run across images like this one

and my heart skips a beat…

gorvalnsslott3

and I have to ask myself

if I truly am that little neutral groupie that I claim to be?

Maybe there is an inner bold Betsey Johnson inside me screaming to come out?

Pretty Pretty Pink, Please

Pink is my favorite color.

While looking for kitchen inspiration, I ran across these kitchens from the 1950’s

1955-pink-beauty-queen-crop

Can you believe there were pink kitchens back then?

No wonder housewives dressed like June Cleaver.

They had to feel like Queens in those kitchens.

I wonder how 1950’s husbands liked pink kitchens?

Interesting, huh?

It’s sweet when you think about it…

maybe 1950 husbands don’t deserve the bad rap they’ve been given?

Makes me want to add a pink kitchen to my Plan B kitchen list.

Why not?

Aren’t Mad Men interiors and pencil skirts in style?

Or how about purple cabinetry?

Ha!

Those were the days.

Today they are even manufacturing little pink kitchens.

How sweet is this mini pink kitchen from Pottery Barn kids?

I want one too!

Back To Square One

Lately, I have been revisiting kitchens

my favorite kitchen has been nixed due to the cost prohibitive marble floor.

John Jacob Interiors_thumb[4]

Somewhat bummed…

my Banker and I have decided that we will not proceed with a kitchen remodel until we fall in love again…

{with a kitchen! that is.}

Some of my Plan B ideas include…

A lighter, Belgium-Swedish-French worn floor like this one…

But again, I am having a difficult time finding the finish and stain I  love.

Light aged & painted cabinets possibly in Benjamin Moore’s Classic Gray?

It appears very neutral with very little gray in my dimly lit kitchen.

(but you know me and paint, scary!)

I love this mosaic tile backsplash especially with vintage finish cabinets but is not one of my plans because…

Marble countertops are a definite.

So is a celebration when it’s done.

(One of my all-time favorite blog pics)

On my list are cabinets to the ceiling, some open shelving & some glass.

My current cabinets do not go to the ceiling which I think makes my kitchen even smaller.

kit table island

A table and chairs instead of an island is something I would like to do but not sure I can sacrifice the storage an island provides.

It will be interesting to see what part of Plan B comes to fruition.

One Candle

Not that I am your daily source of inspiration

or the cream in your coffee

but just in case you happen to be wondering…

my computer is interfering with my BLOGGING!

And now…

I am headin’ to Texas

for a Little Buckaroo 1st Birthday Party.

This scowling face is perfect for his WANTED poster.

He hates anything around his neck

and this bandana was NO exception!

Hard to believe that this li’l monkey was last years version.

Time flies!

TEXAS Landry's bday 016

I cannot even tell you how happy I am

that THIS YEAR I’m going to Texas for a “Party”

and NOT a “Delivery”…

Seriously, it was the most painful labor I have ever experienced…

but just like the other 3 {I actually delivered}…

Landry was so worth…

the fetal position I assumed…

at the base of the hospital Coke machine…

around the 58th hour of my daughter’s labor.

And I am not kidding!

There just comes a time, during labor, when IF that baby isn’t going to come…

Grandma has to act like one!

Hooked

As you probably know…

I am a sucker for black and white…

So much for being afraid to mix white with cream.

I’d be in this bathroom 24/7.

So simple yet so spectacular…

blame it on that floor!

In Paris, Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant at Trianon Palace in Versailles was awesome.

The floor wasn’t the only thing I adored.

We sat on the porch as sheep grazed in the field.

It made a lasting impression…see why?

The white couches at those tables…and YUM! the yellow chairs.

To die for!

First Things First

Praise Report:

Lindsay is holding on. She is NOT out of the woods by any means and her husband asks for our con’t prayers.

What blessed news! Thank you!

In the meantime,

I found collages of John Jacobs work at Tassels and Twigs blogspot.

You can see how my dream kitchen works with his design aesthetic.

Heavenly spaces.

But I have to admit…

that while all these rooms are beautiful~

nothing is prettier than a prayer!

Thanks for all of yours. Keep fighting, Lindsay :)
