I Just Hadn’t Met Him Yet

Road trip last night to Toledo to see Michael Buble.

I love his music and I have always wanted to see him in concert.

DSC04820

Joe drove. Kelly poured.

DSC04824

Michael put on a great show.

He really has a great sense of humor. He told some pretty funny stories.

One story went like this:

His limo driver from the airport was a young guy. Michael arrived @2am. Hungry, Michael told the driver. The driver then said my brother owns a pizza shop. He lives upstairs of his pizza joint…I will call and just wake him up so he can make you a pizza. AND…he did. In the process, Michael gave him tickets to the show and introduced him to the crowd. It was so sweet. He stood up with a baseball cap on in about the 10th row.

DSC04840

We had perfect seats behind the pizza guy about 24 rows back on the floor.

DSC04857

But  for the last few songs we went up front and we were VERY close.

It was CRAZY close!

Confetti was so cool!

Happy girlfriends!

DSC04893

Blurry Michael! I tried!

DSC04902

Michael ended singing A Song For You acapella

I've been so many places in my life and time
I've sung a lot of songs, I've made some bad rhyme
I've acted out my life in stages with ten thousand people watching
But we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you
I know your image of me is what I hope to be, I've treated you unkindly
But girl can't you see, there's no one more important to me
So darling can't you please see through me, 'cause we're alone now
And I'm singing my song for you, you taught me precious secrets
The truth with holding nothing, you came out in front
And I was hiding, oh, but now I'm so much better,
So if my words don't come together, listen to the melody
'Cause my love is in there hiding
I love you in a place where there is no space or time, I love you for my life
You are a friend of mine, and when my life is over
Remember, remember, remember when we were together
And we are alone now, and I was singing this song to you
We were alone, and I was singing, yeah singing
We were alone, and I was singing this song for you
Singing my song, I'm singing my song for you

It was a fantastic concert. That helped me check off one of my “to dos” on my Bucket List.  :)

OOOklahoma

DSC04561

When Joe & I visited Texas we swung up to OK to spend the day with Parker.

DSC04525

Next year…

Parker will enjoy his final year of college.

He will live in a house right by Sooner stadium.

He is holding Landry in his final front yard.

Who knows maybe someday…

our Little Fullback will play for the Sooners??

DSC04529

We loved lunch at Uncle P’s favorite Thai restaurant.

DSC04528

Landry held on to every word Uncle P spoke.

DSC04543

After lunch, we helped Parker move out of his current residence.

Notice… how Parker’s place just doesn’t have the same charm as Ricky’s house.

DSC04531

Abby  helped Parker pack up his things…VERY quickly.

DSC04533

While Joe kept Landry VERY happy

and himself with his new I-phone.

DSC04537

Parker loved his cleaned room…

that was now ready for the next renter.

DSC04535

Parker and his roomies weren’t very efficient at getting their mail from the mailbox trash can.

Parker was happy when Abby found an unopened birthday card with a check for him hidden in the mail heap.

At least the guys tried to be neat with the trash can set-up.

Now…doesn’t this crack you up??

DSC04554

The guys NEVER picked up their new phone book off the driveway either.

We laughed so hard!

How it went unnoticed until it became unnoticeable is hilarious!!

DSC04557

Like Landry…I left Norman tired

but sad too because I haven’t been to OU enough.

Next June, Parker will be an OU graduate!

Time flies and so do planes…

Joe and I vowed that we’ll visit Parker more his Senior year.

We’ll keep our promise :)

Ricky Rocks 2

Part II: Outside views of the Fort Worth home Ricky built.

DSC04630

Front Door View. All garden pots are on an irrigation system.

No green thumb necessary.

DSC04684

While at the front door…

an open window to the private courtyard is placed at the end of the porch.

DSC04634

Perfectly centered within the window are the fountain’s two spigots.

Can you see them? Look hard!

DSC04636

The tranquil sound of running water is the first to greet you.

DSC04603

This cozy courtyard bridges the old home to the new Master Suite.

 DSC04602

The mature tree takes precedence in the design.

Notice the roof was cut out to accomodate the tree.

These two windows are in the Master Bath

DSC04604

The home’s many details.

DSC04631

The portico off the great room.

DSC04619

It was a Graduation/First Communion celebration.

Landry is being held by his Great Grandma Rose (Suzi’s mom). Side note: she is 80! And looks very young.

Landry’s Mimi is feeding him. The guy in the orange shorts is Uncle Keith who is on Ricky’s team. He was my personal tour guide.

Now…the Pool…to catch your drool.

DSC04667

DSC04621

The topography of the backyard was completely changed to achieve this level land.

DSC04622

Stairs to lower level.

DSC04624

Guest Room patio; at the bottom of the stairs.

DSC04626

Magnolia lined drive.

DSC04627

Espalier magnolias.

Have you ever heard of them before? Me neither.

These are the dining room windows.

Ricky rocks, huh?

I knew you’d love it :)

Ricky Rocks

This is one of the homes Ricky built in Fort Worth Texas.

Ricky is Abby’s mother-in-law’s brother.

He and his beautiful family is living here until they complete the home he is currently revamping.

Ricky is a very talented & successful builder who has never had to advertise.

The preceding photos will show you why.

This $6million+ home took a couple years to build.

Not only does Ricky build homes…he completely does all the decorating!

Every LITTLE thing that you see in these pictures was hand selected by Ricky.

DSC04685

The original home where the front door is was saved and added on to.

The 3 colored glass windows begin the new addition.

DSC04592

Foyer. Front door very unassuming.

Concrete pillars. Too die for.

 DSC04683

Ricky always builds a home that you can see through=front to back from the front door.

DSC04594

Off the right in the foyer is this beautiful room.

The sofa tables were built by Ricky’s team from extra lumber and whitewashed like the beamed ceiling.

Check out the ceilings!

DSC04593

These 2 windows face a private courtyard.

DSC04606

Dining Room: Monochromatic masterpiece!

Ricky’s team built the table.

DSC04680

The little lilac hairclips on the orchids sparkled in the sunlight.

DSC04681

Colored glass windows are perfectly placed in few areas.

These float above the staircase.

DSC04682

The colored glass casts a rainbow on the walls.

DSC04591

Hallway to Master Suite.

Excuse me? Do I need to come over and perform CPR on you yet??

If not…come over and revive me!

DSC04596

Only other place with colored glass accents is in the Master Suite hallway.

DSC04597

Master Suite: Soothing.

Sophie is showing Abby the similarities between Catherine and Cinderella’s wedding on the computer.

Abby has one of Sophie’s bows in her hair. Everything IS bigger in Texas.

DSC04598

Window in Master.

DSC04599

Master Bath: Just one side.

It was too hard to take the whole thing. Which is a total bummer because if you saw it…you would be calling 911!

DSC04600

Master Bath: Window view to private courtyard.

DSC04614

Great Room: truly does the name justice!

DSC04615

 DSC04617

This is a step down bar for entertaining.

Love all the lantern lights.

DSC04616

Kitchen table.

No pics of the kitchen. I was stupid!

DSC04679

Greatest ceiling in the Great room.

The detail is unreal. This is all reclaimed wood.

It was such a peaceful place even at 8,000 sq ft?? Sorry, I don’t have pictures of the upstairs or downstairs because I was just actually trying to enjoy it.

I hope you did too :)

Coming Next: The phenomenal outside of the House that Ricky Built.
