but in 18 days

Hannah and Jeremy will be tying the knot!

I have always wanted a Christmas wedding.

I began planning my own December 1983 wedding…

until God decided He had other plans for Joe and me.

We were happily married in April 1983.

But is there truly anything more glorious

then freshly fallen snow

and our Savior’s birth??

I have been dreaming of a White Christmas wedding

for many years now

but not too white

if you know what I mean :)

in McKinney TX…

I am loving vintage Christmases even more.

I have discovered the artist behind reproduction glitter houses.

Cody Foster designs these glitter houses that I love…

Unfortunately, they are pricey and that makes me mad because I love them.

Why is everything so  expensive?

So cool! Love this look…

BUT not much time to covet these days…

Why Jewelry

Some days…

you just need to wear jewelry.

I have plenty…

yet I wear the same earrings every day.

BUT…

Don’t we all know someone who makes us think…

I need to wear my jewelry more??

actually read…

It made me smile because

in some cases it is true.

AND that’s what makes Texas so FUN :)

Why Funny Friday

At Hannah’s Bridal Shower…

my sister from the Cleveland area

and my Findlay friend…

had on the same adorable dress!

Thankfully, PEOPLE magazine wasn’t there to publish them on that horrid…

Who Wore It Best page!

They BOTH looked so cute and wore it differently…

UNTIL my sister noticed….

 

THEY were both WEARING THE EXACT SAME darn earrings!

How crazy is that??

Coincidentally, my friend grew up in the Cleveland area.

Which explains her great fashion sense :)

In fact, her dad was the football coach at the high school I attended.

I remind her that he was absolutely The hottest teacher around!

AND I mean SMOKIN’!!

However,

Queen Elizabeth was mortified that they showed up in the same dress.

I could tell by her expression….

that matching outfits aren’t her “cup of Tea”.

Thankfully…

she and I didn't wear the same

lovely tiffany blue ensemble.

WHY Thank You Isn’t Enough

My thoughtful friends hosted a beautiful

BRIDAL SHOWER for Hannah on Saturday.

IT was held at the SWAN HOUSE tea room and

was TIFFANY inspired.

The hostesses combined Hannah’s favorite things….

tea parties, Audrey Hepburn & her Breakfast At Tiffany’s, family and friends.

It couldn’t have been more perfect!

 

The Tiffany box styled cake….

tasted as good as it looked.

The bride’s special chair…

displayed Hannah’s new monogram.

The tiers of food were delicious

accompanied by a cup of Royal Wedding tea.

The Swan House’s signature swans floated on the top tier.

Beautiful!

Needless to say….

Hannah was overwhelmed with emotion

and gratitude for such a beautiful shower

even with the December date change….

especially when all the guests shared their feelings for her.

My sweet mother’s tribute

started the tears flowing.

Hannah had plenty of help opening

her wonderful array of gifts.

 

Including a Tiffany’s champagne/ice bucket.

And a MRS COATES rhinestone tank from Ashley

in tiffany blue….of course.

And she is wearing a darling monogrammed apron with her new initials

And Emily even bought Evelyn one to match it with her own name written on it.

What great gifts!

And my sister’s signature gift…

an antique chair hand painted by her.

The names and date are on the back.

This is a little rocker.

How special for all her nieces.

And a bottle of JUST MARRIED wine

from my favorite Napa winery;

Swanson Winery.

IT was such a special time

for me and Hannah alike….

“All because Two people fell in love”

It is hard to thank people for creating a lifetime memory.

There really aren’t adequate words.

It’s a heart thing.

But thank you…to all the hostesses and all who shared in our joy.

It was a shower that was truly

Hannah’s “cup of tea” :)

WHY Abby Has Good Taste

My “NEW LIFE” in Texas

Confirmed everything I previously

believed my son-in-law was…

HE is a man who is STRONG enough to endure any obstacle….

including a freezing cold delivery room.

Abby was very hot…

therefore the room was kept very cold.

HE is a man who LOVES my daughter…

and who is HER rock.

HE is an encourager and always positive

even through difficult times.

Including a second epidural and

the scary heart rate drops

of his son.

HE is a FAMILY man…

whose Uncle Rick and Aunt Judy

and cousins Sophie and Zack came at 5pm on Wednesday to see a baby born.

They stuck around for 8 solid hours…

until a baby WAS born at 12:05 am Thursday morning; October 14th!

The kids stayed home from school the next day and it was Judy’s birthday on the 13th.

What an unselfish birthday Aunt!

Plus…

Zachary was scheduled to receive an award at a school assembly in the morning!

Judy called the teacher to POSTPONE the award

because being with family was more important!

NOW… those are strong FAMILY values!

That’s why I knew Chris would be a FAMILY GUY.

HE is a man who PREPARES and takes any JOB very seriously…

He memorized a library video that taught

swaddling techniques.

Hence…I call him a “Master Swaddler” and

Landry a “Little Burrito” after daddy swaddles him.

HE is a man who does the RIGHT THING.

He would do everything for his family’s safety and happiness.

I also call him the “Baby Whisperer”

because he could calm his boy like no one else.

HE is a man who does the DIRTY WORK

because his bedridden wife couldn’t and

his father-in-law would rather not :)

HE is a man who stole my daughter’s heart…

because he knows how to LOVE.

He knows how to be a great husband

and exceptional daddy.

After all, he has incredible role models.

Thank you, Brad and Suzi!

I was there to see my son-in-law

do EVERYTHING I knew he could do

and so much more!

I was so impressed…

What a MAN! What a HUSBAND!

What a blessed SON you are…

WHY Life Is Good

I am posting this quickly but lovingly!

I have gotten “A LIFE” recently…

which has prevented me from blogging.

My new LIFE has included….

Nursing my darling daughter

BACK to HEALTH

after 30 hours of the MOST excruciating Labor

I have ever experienced!

Followed by a c-section

I found myself begging for a tubal ligation

so I wouldn’t have to go through that AGAIN!

NOTE: You will find your own daughter’s labor much more painful then your own!!

BUT as always…the labor was well worth it!

John Landry is a GIFT!

AND Joe’s SURPRISE visit

meant more to me than he will ever know.

Seeing him smile like that when he 1st held Landry

was priceless!

AND witnessing my own son

hold and love his nephew like he did

was a joy so overwhelming…

it flooded my soul.

Kinnon and Parker’s visit was the sweetest thing!

HOWEVER, a failed attempt to SKYPE with Hannah

at the hospital broke my heart!

AND HERS :(  So sorry, Hannah!

BUT she will see Landry at Thanksgiving…

AND THE WAIT WILL BE LIFTED!!

While I was in TEXAS

I saw Landry…

as a TCU fan….

and a BUCKEYE fan….

I also witnessed Landry…

carved PERFECTLY into a pumpkin

by KINNON and Uncle PARKER

And I was there when

he donned his 1st Halloween costume

Loved his monkey tail.

Isn’t he the cutest monkey EVER?

 

This is just a snippet …

of ALL the BLESSINGS to come.

May God richly bless Landry’s precious LIFE

and give his mommy and daddy

some much needed zzzzzzz’s ASAP!!

So they can thoroughly ENJOY….

their sweetest BABY BOY :)
