Why Not Wallpaper

The brown paint in my downstairs hallway was selected by a decorator.

It has a tendency to look rust in my eyes.

Therefore, since I am not into a rusty brown I have been trying out some different colors that are more me.

Much to Joe’s pleasure, I might add :)

The wall went from above to below while he was @work.

Oh, wow! was he happy with my paint job!

It started off with Palladian Blue…too bright!!

Then my favorite Nina Campbell wallpaper (left lower corner) came back into the running… maybe too powder room-ish?

Then on the right// you can see a custom color painted on// which tones down the blue…maybe just right?

More of a greenish-gray undertone and not so in your face? Who knows? All I know is I had visions of it looking like this…

Or the color of this painted chair.

I think I am going with the wallpaper?

Why Are Kids So Smart

Little Evelyn was here with her daddy; Jeremy and Hannah for Easter.

Her big brothers; Adam and Sam came to Findlay too.

Before she went home to Kentucky, she made this “portrait” of herself “especially for me”.

She posed like her chalk portrait  (on her own)…how cute was that?

Evve said “it would help me not miss her while she was gone”.

I saw it Monday afternoon…while mowing the lawn

and it made me smile.

I was careful not to get any grass on her masterpiece :)

I hope it doesn’t rain.

Why A Frown Is A Smile Turned Upside Down

On this Monday…

I need something that makes me smile.

I am counting on my wonderful memory from Napa to come thru for me.

The Swanson vineyard’s tasting parlor…

Hands down the coolest room I have ever been in… period.

 

It has a Parisian inspired style.

The walls are actually more raspberry than red striated.

In the wicker baskets next to the limestone fireplace are the original grape vines that started their adventure.

Their signature wine is named after their daughter, Alexis.

Its girly packaging makes it taste even better!

You need tasting reservations  here… so be sure to book ahead.

You will not be sorry.

Memories of the experience will always bring a smile… guaranteed :)

Why God Is Good

My sweet neighbor had back surgery yesterday morning.

She was able to come home last night because everything went so well:)

Praise GOD!

Why I Love Spring Cleaning

Well…it’s time to start Spring cleaning.

My closet is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning and some re-organization.

I hope it looks like this when I’m done…

How awesome if my dark brown walls magically transformed into these Springy robin egg blue ones. Why didn’t I think of that color in the first place?

I wonder if I use a little more elbow grease if I could end up with Mariah Carey’s chic closet AND…. her designer wardrobe :)

Hmm…today, I think I’ll wear the orange dress with that turquoise sweater on the shelf.

Could you imagine having a closet like this? It’s like having your own boutique. Stunning, huh?

Actually, I’d be thrilled if I ended up with this closet… from one of my favorite movies; Something’s Gotta Give.

***Sigh…

Better get cleaning! …it  looks like I have my work cut out for me:)
